The regiment on the left was shot to pieces by the French Infantry, but the regiment on the right caught a French Infantry Battalion in the flank destroying it. On a break through charge they were also able to see off a pesky artillery battery.The British right flank continue to envelop the French left. The French Cavalry are about to be forced back again.After a brilliant charge, the Hanoverian Cavalry are finally overwhelmed and forced to retire.The British right flank have really won the day!On the far left flank on the British line, the Hanoverian Guard Grenadiers made a magnificant stand. Despite multiple attacks, they maintained their morale and held their ground. They were clearly the best allied infantry unit and earned a battle ribbon for their courageous actions.

Beerstein Brigade serves with Austrians against the French

The French Heavy Cavalry attack the Beerstein Heavies and after several clashes the Beerstein Brigade is steadily pushed back.

On the right flank the Beerstein Infantry are putting up a stiff fight. The Landbier Grenadiers forced the French Guard to seek safety behind their hussars. One Beerstein Battalion was forced to retire while every unit has been heavily engaged.

The Austrians have forced the French to retire, but at heavy price.

Although the Austrians put up a valiant fight, the allies moral was broken. The Beerstein flank was crushed by the French forces. All enjoyed using the Black Powder rules, which seem to capture warfare in the Age of Marlborough.

Who will be the 20,000th visitor to Beerstein?

Reich Duke Wilhelm has been notified by the Minister of Tourism that the realm will soon welcome its 20,000th visitor. All of Beerstein awaits! A twenty one gun salute will be fired by the Leib Artillery Battery to honor the occasion.

Christmas is fast approaching the Reich Duchy of Beerstein and everyone is excited. From all of us to all of you, Merry Christmas! Hopefully the Reich Duchy of Beerstein will be able to return to posting on a more regular basis after the Holidays.

Russo-Swedish Battle a near run thing

The Swedish center is moving forward.

Although the Russians are taking many casualties, they are holding on.

The cavalry battle has raged for some time with the Swedish gradually gaining.

The Swedish infantry are running out of steam and are beginning to withdrawal.

The Swedish infantry have consolidated their position and wait a Russian attack.

On the Swedish left flank the cavalry have finally defeated the Russians, but they cannot save the day. The Russians won the battle but are in no condition to pursue the Swedish. A near run thing indeed.
