Landgrave of Lorraine map found in the College of Honors Library

Although the Reich Duke has been recuperating from his disaster in Sicily, his morale was raised when the College of Honors reported finding a map of the Landgrave of Lorraine. It is widely speculated the map was inspired by the talented Fitz-Badger. Reich Duke Wilhelm seems to be on the mend and should be able to resume normal activities soon.

A promising map - appetizing, indeed.

Btw, a 'Da Vinci Code'-like interpretation of the lilies on the French Arms has them as a later distortion of original *frogs*: not because our repute of frog-eaters, but because the Salian Frank ancestors of Clovis came from a marshy area... Reportedly from a French 19th C. amateur historian / heraldrist. Would provide a funny 'imagi-native' heraldry, e.g; an ermine-like 'sowing' of tiny frogs instead of tiny lilies ....

Glad to hear the Reich Duke is back in the saddle. I suggest a pilgimage between the castles, with a large glass in hand.

A very attractive map - and welcome back to the Reich Duke! A good review of all the Reich Duke's splendid troops is called for with a 21 gun salute... :-)

All the best,

David

Like others, I rejoice at the advent of Herr Reichherzog, something the Lorrainers may not. And my compliments to your artistic corps, although I see they have discreetly omitted the customary dotted 'Proposed line of Annexation' from the map.

David Linienblatt von Tippelbruder, of NBA fame, was so amused that he sent me quasi-'pean' fields of golden frogs on purple (re. ancient emperors) and green (re. Napoleon -but he choose honeybees) backgrounds.
